Market trend research
Research existing similar products in the market. From there, you will gain an overall view and be able to develop your own product strategy. This is a crucial step in forming your sales strategy and creating a competitive advantage from the product’s USP (Unique Selling Proposition). Additionally, you will be updated on popular trends in terms of design, material, and function, as well as identify the top tier of the industry you plan to enter.
Design direction
Design direction is a crucial step after gaining a comprehensive view of the market. As a sales strategy shaped through design (look and feel), this orientation will determine which design language you choose, what materials to use, as well as the USPs that your target customers care about. The design orientation also serves as a covenant between you and us, aligning on a unified direction before proceeding to the next in-depth design phase.
Note: this is not design stage, you might receive a draft sketch inneed.
Product design
Product design is the formal entry into the design process. Once you and we have agreed upon the design information, this is the phase where the data becomes tangible. This is a very exciting step where both you and we search for the sparks hidden behind the sketch lines, aiming to win over both you and the potential customers being targeted. Furthermore, this is also the step where we use our long-standing experience to find the best, most useful, and most optimal solutions for mass production. This is the intersection of aesthetic creativity and production engineering.
Techpack & BOM
This is the most tedious yet most critical work. The Tech Pack is the step of transforming creative sketches into technical specifications, ensuring feasibility during production. This is a very important step before proceeding to prototyping, much like a detailed instruction manual for preparing an elaborate dish. The Tech Pack contains the essence of the design; it is the ‘special dish’ prepared for the product development engineers. In addition to the Tech Pack, there is also the BOM (Bill of Materials), which is the list of components and materials constituting the product.
Color & Material adaptation
This serves as a supplement to the BOM (Bill of Materials) if necessary, especially when you have more than one colorway or change the accent materials for the core product. Color coordination is also a task full of creativity and sophistication, requiring skill and a grasp of color trends suitable for the target customer segment.
Label & Handtag design
Based on your brand guidelines, we can develop a complete set of labels, hangtags, and even a user manual for your product. These will be executed with diverse materials, colors, and a high degree of creativity.
3D Modeling
To gain a clearer, multi-faceted perspective of the product and better understand the materials, 3D modeling is the trend of the future. Furthermore, 3D modeling also helps you save on the number of iterations and time spent on virtual prototypes before deciding to create physical samples.
